We aren’t saying carbs are bad for you. But if you are looking for some low carb swaps, here are some easy low carb swaps for some of your favorite dishes without compromising on flavor!
1. Cereal for Magic Spoon cereal
Magic Spoon makes low carb cereal that is reminiscent of your favorite cereals from when you were younger! They have a Cocoa Low Carb Keto Cereal similar to Cocoa Puffs. For 28g of the cereal, there are 3g of net carbs in Magic Spoon and 23g in Cocoa Puffs.
2. Pasta for Palmini pasta
There are 4g of carbs and 2g net carbs in each 75g serving of Palmini pasta, which is made from heart of palm. It comes in a linguine & lasagna sheets. In comparison, Barilla Linguine has 56.25g of carbs and 52.23g of net carbs in 75g and Barilla Oven Ready Lasagne has 55.9g of carbs and 53g of net carbs in 75g.
3. Pasta for Explore Cuisine edamame pasta
Explore Cuisine edamame pasta is incredibly delicious and has 24g of protein in 1 serving. It has 20g of carbs and 7g of net carbs in 2oz or 56g, compared to Barilla spaghetti, which has 42g of carbs and 39g of net carbs in 2 oz or 56g.
4. Pasta for Banza pasta
We love Banza pasta since it comes in different options of pasta shapes. Their chickpea spaghetti pasta has 32g of carbs and 24g of net carbs.
5. Pasta for spaghetti squash
Spaghetti squash is an easy low carb swap for pasta! We like to add some meat sauce to ours. We prefer them over zoodles (zucchini noodles) because they’re less water-y. Spaghetti squash has about 7g of carbs and 5.5g of net carbs in 100g.
6. Lasagna for Natural Heaven Lasagna Hearts of Palm noodles
Natural Heaven is another heart of palm pasta alternative. There are 4g of carbs and 2g net carbs in 95g.
7. Pizza for Cali’flour Foods pizza crust
We love Cali’flour Foods for their cauliflower pizza crust. They have different flavor options & plant-based ones as well. There are 2g of carbs and 1g net carb in 46g, compared to 24g of carbs in wheat crust.
8. Pizza for portobello mushroom caps
You can easily use a portobello mushroom cap instead for a pizza crust. Here’s an easy recipe to follow if you’d like. You can add whatever toppings you’d like. A portobello mushroom cap that is 3oz has 3.3g of carbs and 2.2g of net carbs.
9. Pizza for Mikey’s Grain Free Pizza Crust
We love all Mikey’s products, but their Grain Free Pizza Crust has 8g of carbs and 4g of net carbs in 1/2 a pizza crust, which is 62g.
10. Tortilla for Crepini Egg Thins with Cauliflower
These egg thins are really great to use if you’re doing keto and want to make a quesadilla or something. You can find them at Sprouts. We also found them at Costco. They’re 0g of carbs!
11. Rice for RightRice
Right Rice is made from veggies like lentils, chickpeas, and green peas. They come in a variety of flavors. There are 30g of carbs and 25g of net carbs in 1/3 cup or 50g uncooked, compared to 40g of carbs and 39.3g of net carbs in long grain white rice, uncooked.
12. Rice for cauliflower rice
Cauliflower rice is an easy low-carb replacement for rice. Here‘s how to make it. Cauliflower rice has 7g of carbs and 4g net carbs per 1/2 cup serving, compared to white rice with 22 grams.
13. Noodles for shirataki noodles
Shirataki noodles are made from glucomannan, a type of fiber that comes from the root of the konjac plant. They take on the flavor of what you cook them in. A popular one is Miracle Noodles, but you can find them easily at the grocery store in other brands. They have 3g of carbs but 0g net carbs.
14. Bread for Outer Aisle Italian Cauliflower Sandwich Thin
These cauliflower sandwich thins are a really great replacement for bread. You can toast them and make sandwiches with them. For 1 slice (31g), they have 2g of carbs and 1g net carb, compared to 1 slice of white bread (30g), which has 15g of carbs.
15. Bread for Mikey’s Almond & Golden Flaxseed Grain Free Sliced Bread
We weren’t kidding when we said we loved Mikey’s. One slice of this bread (46g) has 7g of carbs and 4g net carbs.
16. Mashed potatoes for mashed cauliflower
Here’s a great creamy mashed cauliflower recipe. This recipe has 10g of carbs per serving, compared to 32g of carbs per serving of mashed potatoes.
17. English muffin for Mikey’s Grain Free English Muffin
Seriously, Mikey’s is the best! We love that they have different flavor options for the english muffins. 1 muffin (62g) has 5g of carbs and 2g net carbs, compared to an average English muffin (57g) with 26g of carbs and 24.5g of net carbs.
18. Sugar for Lakanto Monkfruit sweetener
You wouldn’t necessarily think of sugar when thinking low carb, but the Lakanto monkfruit sweetener has 4g of carbs and 0g net carbs, compared to 10g of carbs in 2 tsp of white sugar.
19. Fries for rutabaga fries
We haven’t tried rutabaga fries yet, but this recipe from Wholesome Yum looks amazing! Plus there are 6g of net carbs in comparison to almost 50g in regular fries!
20. Fries for carrot fries
Another veggie alternative to use for fries is carrots. This recipe from Taste of Home looks simple & delicious. Plus there are only 9g of carbs and 6g of net carbs in 1/2 cup!
