The Alo Yoga Goddess leggings are a classic pair. You know which ones we’re talking about! They’re the high-waisted leggings with the built-in leg warmer design in a ribbed knit that you can wear scrunched up over the ankle or long over your heel. But it’s not cheap! It’s $102, so when we saw an Alo Yoga leggings dupe from Amazon for less than half the price, we had to see if it was worth it!
The dupe, which are the Core 10 Ballerina Leggings from Amazon, is currently $48. But aside from the price, we noticed a few things that were different between the original Alo pair and the Alo Yoga leggings dupe. The dupe has a v-cut waist, whereas the Alo leggings have a straight across high-waist cut. Also, the leg warmer portion on the dupe is a little shorter and also angled, while the Alo leggings have a higher leg warmer portion and is straight across, mirroring the waist. Finally, the dupe has a small pocket in the back, while the Alo has a small pocket in the front.
Regarding sizing, we found the dupe to be TTS. We both typically wear an XS or S in leggings and an XS fit us perfectly in these. For the Alo leggings, we typically size down 1 size in all Alo to XXS and XS.
Overall, we’d pick the dupe over the original Alo leggings. We think the v-cut or criss-cross cut of the leggings on the waist is much more flattering. We do like how the original Alo leggings have a longer knit leg warmer portion since it feels and looks more like ballerina / dance attire. But we typically do more high-intensity workouts as opposed to yoga, pilates, barre, or anything more low impact. So, we sweat A LOT more and think the taller ribbed knit leg warmers would keep us a little too warm in our workouts.
But if you do want to wear these leggings pulled down past your heel and you are taller, the dupe is definitely shorter than the original Alo leggings. We’re both about 5’3″, so we don’t have a problem with the length. But we’ve read a few Amazon reviews that do indicate that if you are taller, it may not be as long as you’d like.
