While we love to indulge in the burgers, fries, etc., we came up with some festive, easy and healthy Fourth of July snacks you can take to a party or barbeque!
American Flag Toast
We took our favorite Food for Life gluten-free bread and topped it with some fresh blueberries, bananas, and strawberries.
You can even add some almond butter (we like Justin’s almond butter best) or yogurt before the fruit.
If you wanted a larger base to work with, we would recommend using some Ezekiel bread.
Fruit Skewers
We took a small star cookie cutter to cut out watermelon stars. We put them on skewers with some blueberries. Super easy to do! We like to alternate the fruit for a cuter look.
Watermelon, Blueberry, & Coconut Daiquiri
Lastly, we found this daiquiri recipe on Fresh, Fit, N Healthy’s site. We didn’t follow it exactlyyyy since we’re too lazy to always look up a recipe. While we kept this daiquiri a virgin cocktail, you can add coconut rum and/or vodka!
We blended watermelon with coconut milk, then blueberries with coconut water. We added ice if it wasn’t thick enough. We then layered each on top of each other. Ours didn’t come out quite as blue and red as we’d like. We would recommend adding natural food dyes if that’s what you want. But we thought it was fine to decorate with a fun blue straw and some watermelon stars again!
