We didn’t look at the calendar properly before we booked our trip to Ibiza and we missed the start of Ibiza party scene… by a week. But turns out Ibiza is more than just a party town! We stayed in Playa d’en Bossa, which is known for the nightlife, but we ventured to other areas like Ibiza Town, which is a World Heritage site by UNESCO. We also did a day trip to Formentera, but wish we had more time to spend there!
We’ve even created a Google Map at the end with all the locations!
Ibiza
Es Vedrà
Address: Cala d’Hort, Ibiza Town, Ibiza, Spain
Cost: Free
After we landed in Ibiza, our Airbnb host and his friend took us on a sunset tour / hike to Es Vedrà. Words and photos can’t do it justice. A guide or driver is highly recommended since it takes almost an hour to get there and is a bit difficult to navigate.
We first went to cliffs to take some photos, overlooking the water. But we were able to do a mini hike up to the Pirate Tower (Torre des Savinar). We HIGHLY recommend going up to watch the sunset. Not only can you get amazing photos, but it’s also just such an amazing view. It was absolutely breathtaking and calming watching the sunset there.
Unfortunately, there weren’t any signs to get to the Pirate Tower, so we can’t really give any direction on how to reach it. Also, it is sometimes closed, but you wouldn’t know until you reached it. It was a moderate, but slippery hike and would recommend wearing sneakers. Our Airbnb host did it in sandals, but he was very familiar with the path.
Ibiza Old Town (Dalt Vila)
Entrance: Plaza de Vila
Cost: Free
Definitely wear comfortable walking shoes! Not only are the streets cobblestone, but they also can get steep. We spent the day wandering up the streets, getting lost and taking photos. There are a ton of little shops and food stands if you do get hungry or want to grab a drink.
Castell de Eivissa (Ibiza Castle) and Ibiza Cathedral are a part of Dalt Vila. So we highly recommend going all the way to the top! The view is amazing, and the water is so incredibly turquoise and clear.
Santos Ibiza Suites
Address: Carrer Bruc, 3, 07817 Playa d’en Bossa, Illes Balears, Spain
We stumbled across this hotel while walking on the beach. They also have a restaurant by the pool with lots of fresh juices and smoothies.
Formentera
Formentera is another island and can be reached by ferry from Ibiza. We did a day trip, but we wish we spent 1 night at Formentera since the beaches are so beautiful.
**TIP: TAKE THE FAST FERRY FOR 30 MINUTES.
Do NOT take the hour-long ferry via Aquabus even if it may save you some money. We didn’t heed the warnings and purchased the roundtrip slow ferry because the port was closer to our Airbnb. But the ferry is TINY like a fishing boat. It is so rocky, and we all got so seasick. We ended up purchasing a one-way ferry ticket back to Ibiza on the faster ferry, which was significantly better since the ferry is a lot larger.
**TIP: Cabs work on a flat-rate basis on Formentera.
So fare will depend on what zones you cross. Also, cabs cost more if you call them to you instead of just hailing one and catching it. There are also buses and bikes you can rent, but for us, we found cabs to be the easiest. Just map out where you want to go, so you can minimize the amount spent.
Playa de Ses Illetes
We actually didn’t end up going to this beach even though everyone had highly recommended it. Our cab driver misheard us and took us to Playa de Illetes, which was also absolutely beautiful. The water was incredibly clear, and we found a pier nearby to take some photos. But Ses Illetes is supposed to be even more beautiful.
Chezz Gerdi
Address: Cami’ de Sa Beuradeta, 07860 Es Pujols, Formentera, Spain
The whole restaurant is incredibly Instagrammable! But our favorite part was being able to lay out on the beach chairs in front of the restaurant by the water with drinks.

We’ll definitely check the calendar next time to make sure we’re going at the right time.
